So you’ve configured Jira to accept issues/tickets/bugs etc etc via email and have no idea how to change the issue type of the incoming emailed issue.

It took me awhile to figure this out but, in short, here are the codes to assign the issuetype for the Cloud Email Handler – Handler params:

10000=Task
10001=Subtask
10002=Story
10003=Epic
10102=Bug
10200=Suggestion
10303=Technical
10304=Non-technical
10400=Question
10409=Pre-live Bug
10410=Testing
10402=Enhancement

WHY THIS INFORMATION IS NOT WELL DOCUMENTED VIA ATLASSIAN IS BEYOOOOND ME!

Each place you see the string “","value":"” you will see the name of the issue type displayed immediately before.

Immediately after that string is the numerical value you will need to assign the issuetype for the Cloud Email Handler – Handler params

Ex:

project=PROJ,issuetype=10102,reporteruserkey=archie.smith,bulk=ignore,createusers=false,notifyusers=true,ccwatcher=true,ccassignee=false,stripquotes=false
